Monitoring

In order to determine progress and set measurable targets, it must be possible to determine the energy consumption and CO2 emissions of the public transport sector in a uniform manner. This should document the long-term development of the public transport sector, but also show potentials.

The Confederation has therefore set up a monitoring system for energy efficiency to supplement the public transport statistics. It will therefore be able to gain important insights into the future direction of the energy strategy in public transport (ESPT 2050). The data will be published in aggregated form. All licensed transport companies are obliged to collect their data. The data is collected in January each year via a web application, which also contains a tool for evaluating the data. The instructions regarding the registration can be found under "Documentation" below. Instructions for completing the questionnaires can also be found in the documentation. Please read them carefully. If you have any questions or problems, please contact the support.
