Submitting projects

Applications for financial support for research from the BIF must comply with certain legal, substantive, timing and formal requirements.

Substantive requirements

• Submitted projects must be sufficiently relevant to the objectives of the BIF.
• Projects must be able to be assigned to at least one of the priority areas of the current Railway Infrastructure Research Programme (see documents).
• Applications must contain the information required in the document ‘Application Form for Rail Infrastructure Research Funding

Timing requirements

• Research applications may be submitted at any time.
• Applications are assessed by the BIF Research Committee, which meets twice a year.
• Decisions on applications received are made on an ongoing basis, but at least twice a year.

Formal requirements

• Applications may be submitted in German, French, Italian or English using the form below.
