New forms of mobility
The FOT creates the framework for new forms of mobility in public transport. These include on-demand transport services (such as ridepooling) and self-driving vehicles.

Public transport is continuing to evolve. Various transport companies are offering or trialling new forms of mobility. These include on-demand transport (ridepooling) and self-driving buses and vehicle fleets.
The FOT is encouraging these developments with the aim of making public transport even more efficient and customer-friendly. It is doing so in its capacity as a regulator and funding body, and to promote research.
