We keep the business running
The Business Administration and Organisation Division, headed by Christine Stoller-Gerber, is responsible for the numerous internal services that are necessary to keep the Office running smoothly. These include resource management and human resources, as well as continuing education and training and the supervision of trainees in commercial apprenticeship or mediamatics. The Division is also responsible for budgeting and financial planning, material supplies, safety and organisation within the Office and for translations of texts produced by the Office. The Business Administration and Organisation Division is divided into:
Staff
A system of active management and care of staff provides our managers with the tools for effective staff management. This also contributes to FOT staff being able to work in a challenging and motivating environment.
Accounts and controlling
Every year we draw up the FOT's draft budget and financial planning, and put together the figures for the Confederation's State Accounts. We continuously monitor the Federal Office's funding streams (ordinary budget and fund for financing large-scale railway projects).
Logistics
In addition to processing all the incoming and outgoing mail, we are responsible for safety in the building, setting up work stations including telephones, and procuring office materials. We also manage all the meeting rooms and official vehicles, and act as a turntable for the Swiss Federal Archives and other libraries.
Language services
We translate a variety of texts, such as laws, parliamentary motions, speeches etc., predominantly on transport policy, into German, French, and Italian, and if desired into English as well.
